Can you make a hot dog out of a carrot? I’d heard this theory recently in some veggie cooking circles, but I had to test it for myself. This is the experiment I conducted. A week after making this video, I tried it again on the stove top. Along with the recommendations at the end, I definitely say to grill them. It gives them that extra summery flavor. Try it and decide for yourself!
Marinade:
1/4 cup water to 1/4 soy sauce
1/2 – 1 Tbsp rice vinegar, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil
Spices: garlic powder, cayenne or black pepper, ginger, onion powder, anything that suits your fancy
*Boil carrots on high heat until they are fork tender but not mushy. Marinate for 24 hours. Grill 3-5 minutes each side at about 400 degrees.
